Boxing this week

Leafcutters (Rick) and Lotus (Cherish) did quite a few boxes this week, along with The Gardener (Zack- our cousin/nephew)- The Gardener found his 100th box this week!!! Yeah! While Leafcutters is chasing F400 and I am hovering around F250. It's been an exciting week.

First, on Thursday, 6/16/2005 The Gardener (Zack) and I, along with Cactus (Joshua- my boyfriend) went boxing at Tyler State Park after work. It was getting late and I wanted to get a few of the Battle of the Band boxes that we didn't have, so we were off to find the Police letterbox. It was duskish and the trails were covered in mud, which brought out all of the toads. I love toads, so I was stopping at each occurrence of toad and touching them etc... well it kept getting darker and darker, but still light enough to box. We arrived at the clues location for "the Police" box and realized that it had been abducted by a little "Squirrel" but he was kind enough to tell us the precise location of the Police box, which we later found. We also found "Doctor Who #2, I just want to say that I am really enjoying this series of boxes, it's fun to return old locations that we had found previously in search of new boxes. Joshua had a sore neck so we left soon after, we will be back soon.

Then on Friday (6/17/2005) The Gardener and I headed off to Armentrout Preserve in Ambler to do the "Dog Day" series of boxes. We found all of them except number 1, which was covered in sticker bushes and we weren't prepared for that! At the fifth box, we ran into a Hitch Hiker, "The Travel Bug" HH started by cw sunseeker and Jasmine, it's a cute little HH, but it was infested with a "Parasite: Mite". I had never seen a Parasite before so I wasn't exactly sure what I am to do with it, I guess we will move it along soon.

On Saturday (6/18/2005) Leafcutters, The Gardener and I celebrated Father's Day a little early. I had a letterboxing day planned as a present. First in the morning, I gave Dad a bag full of goodies, a new logbook, a new ink pad, I cleaned his stamp up, and gave him some candy, new ziplock bags, and bug spray. It was a nice little heartfelt present.
Then we travelled out to Chester/Delaware counties in search of boxes. We found the "Baaaa Humbug" mystery box placed by Amanda from Seattle. It's a cute little stamp, in a discrete location. Afterwards, we headed over to "Brandywine Trail" to find the series of North and South. Both boxes were in great condition, although the first box is hidden in a wild patch of stinging nettles, and it really does sting!
Next we headed over to Newtown Square for the "Fox Catcher" box, nice easy hike and cute stamp. It was 2pm and we had to head home, tired and rewarded.
